With so much furniture ending up in landfill each year, at the last count 10 million items; it is definitely worth reupholstering or recovering a chair or sofa that you still love but that doesn’t quite look or feel its best anymore. Modern frames are often not built to last, to keep driving custom; this was not so of old frames. I have reupholstered chairs that are over 100 years old, with a bit of work and some new fabric they will now be around for another 100.
